إِنِّي وَجَهْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي فَطَرَ السَّمَوتِ وَالْأَرْضِ عَلَى مِلَّةِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِيْنَ قُلْ إِنَّ صَلَاتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَبِذَالِكَ أُمِرْتُ وَآنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ اللَّهُمَّ مِنْكَ وَلَكَ بِسْمِ اللهِ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ

میں نے اپنا منہ اس ذات کی طرف کیا جس نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو پیدا کیا۔ میں ابراہیم کی ملت پر ہوں جو حنیف اور مسلم تھے۔ میں مشرکوں میں سے نہیں ہوں۔ بے شک میری نماز، میری قربانی، میری زندگی اور میری موت سب اللہ رب العالمین کیلئے ہے۔ اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں، مجھے اسی بات کا حکم دیا گیا ہے اور میں مسلمین میں سے ہوں ۔ اے اللہ یہ (جانور) آپ کی طرف سے ملا ہے ) کی طرف سے قربان کیا جارہا ہے اللہ کے نام کے ساتھ اور اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے“۔
Historical Background:
The sacrifice shows the willingness and devotion of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) and Hazrat Ismail (A.S) for the sake of Allah. This is an act of obedience, faith, and submission then Allah provided the Ram before sacrifice.
This shows the act of deep expression of empathy, devotion, and surrending oneself to Allah’s decision. Moreover, it emphasizes the importance of leaving your beloved wishes for the sake of Allah and this sacrifice tells us all about it.
During Zilhaj, on the 10th, 11th, and 12th day, Muslims celebrate this event and slaughter animals that Allah has made permissible for us. The meat is distributed to poor and needy people to get the blessings and acceptance of sacrifice from Allah.
