In Islam whenever a Muslim brother or sister dies. The most important part of his/her funeral is Namaz e janaza ki dua and prayer. It comprises of series of duas and requests made for the deceased person for protection, forgiveness, and mercies.
This depends on the Muslim’s age and gender, as it is mentioned in Surah Qiayamah for the departed soul and Day of Judgement.
The prayer of namaz-e-janaza is recited in the last takbeer of namaz-e-janaza while performing the funeral.

What is Namaz e janaza?
Namaz e Janaza is a vital part of Islamic funeral ceremonies and prayers and requests made for the departed soul and Muslims who have passed away for their forgiveness.

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيْنَا وَمَيِّتِنَا وَشَاهِدِنَا وَغَائِبَنَا وَصَغِيْرِنَا وَكَبِيرِنَا وَذَكَرِنَا وَاننَا اللَّهُم مَنْ أَحْيَيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَأَحْيِهِ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ . وَمَنْ تَوَفَّيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَتَوَفَّهُ عَلَى الْإِيْمَانِ

Namaz e Janaza ki Dua For Male Child
In Arabic
اللَّهُمَ اجْعَلْهُ لَنَا فَرَطًا وَاجْعَلْهُ لَنَا أَجْرًا وَذُخْرًا وَاجْعَلْهُ لَنَا شَافِعًا وَ مُشَفَعًا
In Urdu
”اے اللہ اس لڑکے کو ہمارے لئے آگے پہنچ کر سامان کرنے والا بنا دے اور اس کو ہمارے لئے اجر اور وقت پر کام آنے والا اور اس کو ہماری سفارش کرنے والا بنا اور جس کی سفارش منظور ہو جائے“۔
Namaz e Janaza ki Dua For Female Child

اللَّهُمَ اجْعَلْهَا لَنَا فَرَطًا وَاجْعَلْهَا لَنَا أَجْرًا وَّذُخْرًا وَاجْعَلْهَا لَنَا شَافِعَةٌ وَّ مُشَفَعَةٌ
In Urdu
”اے اللہ اس لڑکی کو ہمارے لئے آگے پہنچ کر سامان کرنے والی بنا دے اور اس کو ہمارے لئے اجر اور وقت پر کام آنے والی اور اس کو ہماری سفارش کرنے والی بنا اور وہ جس کی سفارش منظور ہو جائے“۔
Methods for Performing Namaz-e-Janazah:
The body is placed in front of the imam, and if there are many it should be placed one after the other.
- It commences with the first takbir, ‘’Allahu Akbar’’
- It begins with the silent recitation of Surah Fateha followed by the prayer to God to bestow justice, grace, and blessings on the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), and finally, two duas are made. There is no raku in the namaz e janazah prayer.
- The second Takbir starts with a second recitation of ‘’Allahu Akbar’’
- The third takbir is again recited with another repetition of the phrase ‘’Allahu Akbar’’
- Then dua is made for the deceased person for pardoning, mercies, and happy ending. Another dua recited for forgiveness is Astagfirullah dua
- The fourth Takbir is recited once again with the same phrase of Allahu Akbar
- The company delivers the peace and thanks to Allah’s Prophet
- To finish the prayer, turn your head to the right and say Asalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullah

پہلے نیت کر کے امام و مقتدی کانوں تک ہاتھ اُٹھا ئیں اور اللہ اکبر کہتے ہوئے ہاتھ ناف کے نیچے باندھ لیں اور ثناء پڑھیں۔
پھر بغیر ہاتھ اُٹھائے تکبیر کہیں اور وہی نماز والا درود شریف پڑھیں، پھر بغیر ہاتھ اٹھائے تکبیر کہیں اور دعا پڑھیں، مقتدی تکبیریں آہستہ کہے اور امام
زور ہے۔۔
دُعا کے بعد چوتھی تکبیر کہ کر دونوں طرف سلام پھیر دیں اور صفیں تو ڑ کر دعامانگیں۔
